There are many types of film cameras, each providing different qualities and different prices. Here are a few that stand out to me. First is a point-and-shoot camera. These cameras are pocket sized and can go basically anywhere. They mainly take 35mm film, are realitively cheap, and are very user friendly. The next type of camera is a rangefinder. These cameras allows the photographer "to measure the distance of the subject for accurate focusing." When looking through the viewfinder it will all appear in focus. There will be a faint image behind original and by turning the focus ring you will create a focused picture. They have been used by news paper journalist for the past 70 years. SLR cameras use a mirror and prism system to take a perfect picture of what is seen through the viewfinder. Also, many different lenses can be used on this kind of camera giving it a kind of versatility many photographers love. Lastly, there is a medium format film camera. These cameras take 120mm or 220mm film and have many different standard widths with a wide range of prices for use of all. So, as you can see there are many different kinds of film cameras which all have unique settings and variables that will change the way a picture will turn out. |
